BIS ADVANCED SOFTWARE SYSTEMS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES BETA TRIAL OF ITS QBU™ ONLINE BACKUP AND RESTORE SOLUTION AT
May 2002
London, England – May 20, 2002 – BIS Advanced Software Systems Ltd., a veteran developer of data management software solutions, today announced the completion of a successful beta trial of its new QBU™ system for ISPs at Freeserve, UKs number one ISP-Portal.

QBU™, BIS latest software solution, enables ISPs to offer online backup and restore services to its subscribers. Online backup and restore services are among the most attractive added value services to be offered by ISPs, as the transition to broadband infrastructures nears its end. With minimal investment, an ISP with a broadband infrastructure can offer private and business subscribers a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for their critical data. Essentially, every user can backup their personal files to the ISPs remote servers and recover individual files or the entire database in a matter of minutes. QBU™ differentiates itself from other backup services by offering a new byte-comparison technology that creates unusually small delta files, thus requiring substantially less storage space than alternative solutions. In addition, QBU™s high level of security, reliability and user friendliness ensures that it will become a major player in the ISP backup service market.

During the beta trial period at Freeserve, special attention was given to the ability to concurrently serve hundreds of thousands of subscribers, as per the needs of the worlds leading ISPs. The following capabilities and features were tested and validated:
• Progressive delta technology.
• Transmission of backup and restore files over IP lines.
• Ability to serve millions of clients with a standard servers farm configuration.
• Advanced security tools and capabilities that ensure 100% privacy of subscriber data.
• Independent backup and restore given intuitive client user interface.
• Backup of a heterogeneous subscriber base – residential, SMB and enterprises.
• Powerful and flexible ISP management tools that control and maintain the backup service.
• Connection between the QBU™ server management system and the ISPs Billing and CRM systems.

Moti Miron, CEO of BIS Advanced Software Systems, "The beta trial at Freeserve is of monumental importance to BIS, since it proves that QBU™ is effective and reliable at an ISP that serves millions of subscribers. This trial proves that our solution is suitable even for the largest ISPs in the world, and it is ready for deployment and use." He further added that "I want to personally thank Freeserve for this opportunity and for their initial vote of confidence in our product and our company."
